| Just in case anyone still checks this page, I have decided to do my blogging elsewhere. You can find me on MySpace at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=10566602. See you there! | | |
| Greetings from Sickland! I suppose it's not really that bad, when compared to the Ebola virus, or some strands of Malaria, but I don't really enjoy being not completely well. It hurts to talk, I'm sniffling, my back is in significant pain (from coughing so much, I suppose), and I just feel weak(er than normal). I left an hour early from work today instead of taking my lunch hour (which I don't take much anyway, now that I think about it), so I'm typing this as I finish off my ramen noodles for supper. The bright side is that my sprained ankle is getting better every day, so at least it's one problem at a time.
Despite this feeling of not-well-ness, I am happy. Why? Well, as I was scrolling through some MySpace profiles of some of you, I became encouraged by interactions between various friends. First, I had a friend invite from Nancy, who Elliott introduced me to while I was at East Carolina University this past weekend. Next, I looked at Elizabeth's, Margaret's, Elliott's and Annie's MySpace comments, only to find what I already knew - they support each other, and wish the best for each other. For all of you ETBU, DU, BAMA, or CPCS folks, these people are/were part of the youth group at my church. I am blessed to have a group of teens that genuinely care about each other! It sounds BASIC and simple, but their concern for each other and their desire to grow closer to Christ is such an encouragement to me.
Then, to top it off, there was a joyous new message from Bernice in my inbox (is there such a thing as a non-joyous message from Bernice?), in which she used perhaps my favorite word of all time: Fantasmagorical. Ah, that was a source of fun, for sure. If it hadn't been for a gutsy call late one night as a sophomore at ETBU, I never would have put that word in my paper for Dr. Bryant, and it may have been lost forever! YAY for sleep-deprivation (and A-'s)!
Well, it's time for me to go to bed again. Maybe another 12 hours of sleep will help me to get well fully before tomorrow comes with a barrage of loudness from my alarm clock. Goodnight everyone!

| Greetings from not-quite-wintery North Carolina! It's been a little windy (ok, a lot windy) lately, but otherwise very nice weather that seems more like spring than March than January. If you would like to read an amazing story, you need to go to Ann Marie Liss' blog (http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=MissyLiss21) and read about her WOW taxi experience. She has done her part in helping to prove that in a head-to-head battle of pure brawn and muscle, a moving vehicle wins over a human. Check it out for yourself and give God some props, yo.
I had a great talk with Patrick Adair last night, and Shannon Crawford the evening prior. Of course, these were fun conversations. They're both doing well. Nic & Krystal Castle are still in Arkansas, which I believe is poetic justice. We all can agree that Arkansas and Mississippi rank the lowest in almost every category in which states can be compared. Alabama, on the other hand, is at least several notches higher than either of these states in any category that one may choose to consider.
I still haven't posted pictures of my Mustang on here, which I planned to do quite some time ago. I'll do that soon... hopefully this week? Don't hold your breath.
I did get a note from the NC Dept. of Revenue last week, telling me that they have granted me Tax-Exempt status for Trail of the Moose! This was GREAT news. Now I just need to get the IRS paperwork fully completed and get that process rolling along. Then I can focus on actually doing mission trips (and the website...and business cards.... and.....).
Hope you all are doing well....Happy end of January!!!
